Cambridge United have received a Silver Award from the 2024/25 EFL Family Excellence Report…
Over two visits, the EFL deemed Cambridge United's family matchday experience an overall score of 8.0, just shy of the Gold Award, after visiting for games against Blackpool on 24 August and Exeter City on 15 February.
This latest award ranks the Club as the 8th highest in Sky Bet League One and 26th across all 72 EFL Clubs.
The report was particularly impressed by the, 'very good matchday experience at the Cledara Abbey Stadium, including a fantastic approach to the family audience digitally, and at the stadium some great initiatives like the two fan zones and an outstanding contribution from Marvin the Moose.'
The experience was also deemed 'Excellent' for Website, Ticket Purchase, Social Media, Travel & Last Mile, Facilities, Outside the Stadium, Retail & Merchandise and Inside the Stadium.
All EFL Clubs received two mystery visits throughout the season which aims to experience the family matchday experience in order to drive improvement and best practice for family engagement.
Speaking about the award, Cambridge United Supporter Engagement Officer, Amelia Edwards, said, "We are pleased to once again be recognised by the EFL for our efforts and investment in the Family Experience on a matchday, especially given some of the limited resources an older ground provides.
"This continues to be an absolute priority to us and the introduction of the South Stand as the dedicated Family Stand has allowed us to further develop our offering over the Season.
"Our aspiration to achieve Gold continues and the feedback from both visits provides us with implementable changes we will look at over the summer to raise the bar and push on for next season."
