Cambridge United have parted company with Women’s Head Coach Darren Marjoram…

The departure comes after four years at the helm, during which time Marjoram has been instrumental in helping drive the women’s side of the Club forward.

As Head Coach of the U’s, Marjoram has successfully retained the Club’s fourth tier status for four straight years, won three county cups and led the team to their first ever national final.

Former captain, Gisela Otten, who this month retired and has since joined the Women’s Board, stated, “On behalf of the Board and Club owners, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Darren for everything he has done in his time as manager of CUWFC. It is a period that has seen significant progress on-and-off the pitch and Darren has been at the heart of it.

“When Darren first arrived, the women’s side was still finding its footing within the broader structure of the club.

“Through his vision, commitment, and drive, he has helped build a strong culture and high professional standards that will serve as a great foundation for the next phase of our development.

“We are incredibly grateful for his dedication, care, energy, and the countless hours he has put in. His passion for the women’s game and the impact that sport can have in the wider community has always shone through. He will always be welcome at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.

“We are also very pleased that both Ben Yeomans (coach), and Sam Carrington (GK coach) will be continuing with the Club as we begin the process of recruiting a new Head Coach in time for the start of the new season.”
